Innovation is at the center of our operations and informs our approach to business, engineering, tech and education.
We are always looking for new ways to meet the challenges of our industry and global agriculture. We encourage innovation across the OCP Group – from employee-led change through to extensive R&D, start-up initiatives, partnerships, education and skills development projects. It’s a mindset that will open up new opportunities and ideas that will propel us towards a sustainable future.

Accelerating new ideas
We’re helping to accelerate new ideas across our operations. We founded Mohammed VI Polytechnic University (UM6P) with strong links to our industry operations, giving researchers the resources they need to test their projects and fast-track their innovations. For entrepreneurs in fields including agritech and biotech, the IMPULSE accelerator gets them to market faster, driving rapid change. And our partnership with US-based Plug and Play means we can work with a vast network of start-ups and the North American agritech community – fueling their ideas with our expertise.
Leading environmental research
Our water and energy programs are finding new ways to do more with less. Our work to improve our water use is recognized globally as a leading example of diversification and innovation, and our eight-hectare Green Energy Park at Ben Guerir is the largest solar energy research site in Africa.
Collaborating to create a bigger impact
We partnered with IBM to form Teal Technology Services, which accelerates digital transformation and business operations across Africa. Our agricultural joint venture in Spain with Fertinagro focuses on the production of organic agricultural products. These are just two examples of our work across five continents, where we're continually working with partners that will help us achieve an even bigger impact.
Innovation in agriculture
In Morocco, our Al Moutmir initiative makes advanced scientific and technological resources available to farmers, as well as training from engineers and agronomists, so they can benefit from sustainable and thriving agriculture. With SoilOptix, a gamma ray-based technology, we provide high definition composition maps of their plots. Our Agribooster initiative connects farmers to financing and insurance, and analysis from our mobile School Labs has benefited farms across the continent.
Encouraging innovation everywhere
Our internal program, ‘Le Mouvement’, encourages employees to capitalize on their skills and bring new ideas to life. We also launched an incubator and accelerator, BloomLab, where people can initiate and develop projects with access to resources and funding. Our 1337 Coding School facility is designed to inspire the next generation of brilliant minds, giving them the digital expertise to develop the innovative products and services of tomorrow.
A dedicated fund for start-ups
We have established a venture capital fund to invest in the most promising entrepreneurs and start-ups who are working to transform agriculture. The fund’s areas of focus are plant and crop science products and digital agriculture services. We deliver strategy, financial value and support with scaling for real impact.
